Alumet recruits Parry Bowen staff
A Southam-based renewable energy company has taken on six members of staff from fallen manufacturer Parry Bowen.
Alumet recruited the employees after curtain walling installer Parry Bowen collapsed, making the majority of its 150 staff redundant.
As reported by Insider last week, Matthew Hammond, Mark Hopkins and Eddie Williams of PwC were appointed joint administrators to the company on 27 October.
Chasetown, Staffordshire-based Parry Bowen said the failure was down to cashflow problems.
The company specialised in manufacturing and installing curtain walling and commercial windows.
Gary Summers, chief executive of the Alumet Group, said: "Parry Bowen was a well-run company with a great reputation and a reasonable order book but still succumbed to the commercial pressures which lower margins exert upon a business.
"Out of bad news we have created good news, the appointment of these key members of staff will help us towards a secure future and their knowledge and experience will provide our contractors with the best possible service."
