Timberline up for sale after going bust

Share | |

A buyer is being sought for Chesterfield-based Timberline after a sharp downturn in work forced the children's outdoor play equipment manufacturer into administration.

According to administrators from Hart Shaw, Timberline's work from the education sector dried up as a result of public sector spending cuts.

Timberline, which has been trading for more than 20 years, had been incurring losses which led to the appointment of administrators on 2 November.

Before the downturn Hart Shaw said the business, which operates from two factories on the Foxwood Industrial Park, had been expanding with turnover of about £9m.

"The directors reacted quickly to the changing circumstances of the company and sought expert professional advice," said joint administrator Christopher Brown.

"The administrators are continuing to trade the business whist it is marketed for sale as a going concern."
