Herbert Baggaley Construction has started work on a £2.75m contract at Loughborough University.

Through the project, the Mansfield-based company will construct a clubhouse and changing rooms, a two-storey building which will hold a purpose-built pitch and six other pitches on the university campus.

It will include 14 unisex team changing rooms with physio facilities on the ground floor, with catering and hospitality suites on the first floor.

Outside of the clubhouse, there will be a seating area for 300 spectators and terraces for 2,700 people around the floodlit pitch.

The architectural practice assigned to the project is Watson Batty. It is due for completion in February 2012.

"We are delighted to have been awarded this contract," said Baggaley's managing director, Ian Baggaley.

"We have successfully delivered a number of projects for Loughborough University, most recently the award winning £12m SportPark project, and are looking forward to further strengthening our relationship."
