Interserve goes green on Watermead

Share | |

Constructions company Interserve has agreed terms on a 6,000 sq ft office on Watermead Business Park, Syston.

It is the first office to be let in the UK under the PassivHaus accreditation, which measures a building’s environmental efficiency and the working environment

The deal was completed by property agent Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) on behalf Raynsway Properties.

Interserve said it wanted to construct its own new regional office in Leicester to optimise the building's green credentials and reduce energy costs.

Tom Watkinson of Raynsway Properties said "Passive energy efficiency has to be the principle focus in delivering a low carbon development.

"The excellent collaborative approach on Watermead between the architect (CMPG), M&E Consultants (CPW) and the delivery contractor (Interserve) ensured that energy efficiency was built into the fabric and structure of the building for its entire life span."

Mechanical services specialist William Bailey, based in Derbyshire's Amber Gate, developed and installed the scheme.
