HomeServe staff in mis-selling probe
Walsall-based HomeServe will halt its telesales and marketing activity amidst an inquiry into the mis-selling of its products.
The company, which provides home repairs, said the decision was reached after an independent review undertaken by Deloitte. The research concluded that there were cases where sales processes "did not meet the company's required standards".
HomeServe said it has now suspended all telephone sales and marketing activity and will begin an "immediate" re-training programme for its telephone sales staff.
New scripts for telesales staff were also being developed, it confirmed.
Richard Harpin, chief executive, said: "We are determined to ensure customers receive the highest standards of service and we have therefore taken swift action to address the issues identified by our review. We have commenced a programme to re-train staff.
"We will resume marketing once we are confident that our sales processes meet the standards that we and our customers expect."
HomeServe added that its service to customers making a claim or renewing their policy are unaffected by this move.
