NMC in £12m contract wins
The utilities division of Nottinghamshire-based North Midland Construction (NMC) has secured contracts worth £12m.
Civil engineering and building specialist NMC said the largest contract was for Electricity North West, which involves the installation of fibre optic cable in about 60 separate projects. The regional project will be completed over a three-year period.
NMC has also secured a contract with Scottish company Energetic for utilities work on a several projects including Birmingham's multimillion-pound revamp of New Street Station.
The company has also extended its contract with construction giant Carillion for another year to maintain fibre optic and copper cables across the East and West Midlands
Martin Queally, managing director of the utilities division at NMC, said: "We’re delighted to have secured these important contracts, all of which will draw on our expertise in delivering fibre and utility routes."
