Horrobin steers removals MBO

A Cannock-based removal company is back in local ownership following a management buyout (MBO) from its holding company.

John Lomas Removals has been under the ownership of Edinburgh-based Clockwork Holdings Group since 2007.

The recently completed MBO led by Rob Horrobin has meant the company, which is based in Ridings Park off Eastern Way, will become independent again.

Horrobin has worked for the company for more than 13 years, progressing into the role of branch manager at the Cannock site.

Now managing director, Horrobin said: "As a management team we are excited about the growth prospects for the business. John Lomas Removals already has a strong presence within the midlands, but we are not going to rest on our laurels as we have ambitious plans to grow the business over the years to come."

Legal advice was provided by Lichfield and Cannock law firm Ansons.

Jas Singh from the law firm said: "The majority of company sales which I act for tend to be where a large national or multinational company buys a smaller independent, so to have advised Rob and his MBO team was very rewarding.

"This MBO has allowed the previous owners to hand the business over to an experienced team who know the company and market very well."
