Morgan Sindall's Muse wins £200m deal
A division of Warwickshire construction company Morgan Sindall has been appointed as the regeneration partner for £200m worth of council projects.
Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council awarded the contract to the company's urban regeneration division Muse Developments.
Muse won two separate tenders to work in partnership with the council, the first to develop five separate sites in Basing View and the second to create a business class hotel in the western end of Basing View.
Subject to planning permission, building work will commence at the end of 2013.
The council has confirmed that it will commit £3.3m to the estate infrastructure improvements, which have already begun with the demolition of two redundant buildings and landscaping.
The council has also earmarked a further £5m of investment funds to help stimulate new development at the scheme.
Paul Smith, chief executive of Morgan Sindall, said: "We are delighted that Muse has been named as Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council's regeneration partner for the development of Basing View as a 21st century business destination and we look forward to working with the council on this exciting project."
