£38m council offices unveiled
Birmingham City Council's new £38m office scheme has been completed. The site, which is located near to Aston University, was created by Thomas Vale Construction.
It comprises about 236, 806 sq ft over five floors and will become the base for 3,000 council employees.
Council staff will move into the office, which was designed by Associated Architects, next month (November).
Paul Clarke, strategic projects director at Thomas Vale Construction, said: "Thomas Vale Construction is absolutely delighted to complete the prestigious 10 Woodcock Street project and handover the facility to Birmingham City Council.
"The project has delivered a highly sustainable and flexible facility which has already achieved construction excellence demonstration project status, with many innovative features designed and incorporated into the scheme."
The scheme was completed as part of the Working for the Future programme, through which the council is targeting £100m of savings over a 25-year period.
