Barclays Real Estate has appointed Ross Mackay as a relationship director in its Midlands team.

Mackay will be responsible for providing finance products to clients in the commercial property sector across the region.

He joins Barclays Real Estate from Handelsbanken where he worked as a corporate manager, responsible for the larger corporate market.

Prior to that, he spent ten years at Lloyds covering a variety of roles in both the UK and South America before returning to Birmingham as a relationship director for the corporate real estate team.

Ray O'Donoghue, managing director of Barclays Corporate in the Midlands, said: "Ross will be a valuable asset as we continue to build and develop long-term relationships with the sector.

"We've had an active year and have been involved in a number of deals including the refinancing of Galliford Try, a development finance facility for the Kings Cross Central Partnership and Igloo in respect of the BBC's new studio facilities in Cardiff and the sole arranger of an investment loan facility for Tritax to acquire Cobham's HQ building."
