Network Rail moves into Norfolk House

Network Rail has taken a lease on 30,000 sq ft of office space in Birmingham's Norfolk House.

The agency said it will be using the space for administration and ancillary functions while New Street station undergoes its multimillion-pound redevelopment.

The deal was completed by the Birmingham office of property agent DTZ, which secured the space on Smallbrook Queensway on a five-year lease.

GBR Phoenix Beard acted on behalf of the landlord, Moredun LP, representing Buccleuch Property, Edinmore and Dundas.

Nick Waugh of Buccleuch Property said: "Network Rail is clearly an ideal tenant for Norfolk House, which is situated just yards away from the backdoor of New Street station. We are pleased to be working with Network Rail on this flagship project."

John Griffiths of GBR Phoenix Beard added: "Norfolk House’s strategic location adjacent to New Street station, coupled with its large, clear floorplates have again resulted in a rapid re-letting of this landmark building."
