Challinors signs up to Emita

Share | |

Law firm Challinors has been named as the sole legal sponsor of the East Midlands International Trade Association (Emita).

Backed by the government body UK Trade and Investment (UKTI), Emita is a networking organisation for businesses in and around the East Midlands which are engaged in international trade.

Through the sponsorship agreement, Emita members have access to the Challinors lawyers and the services they specialise in.

Challinors' Andrew Shipley said: "By working closely with Emita and its members as part of the sponsorship agreement, we can make available Challinors’ teams’ extensive knowledge and experience on international corporate and commercial matters in particular, to assist them in expanding their business.

"Ultimately our team can support them through the exploration and development of global markets which present excellent opportunities, particularly in the current climate, and in turn help them secure long-term sustainability."

According to recent research from UKTI, about 38 per cent of companies said that exporting led to a level of growth "not otherwise possible".

Businesses generally reported a significant return on investment from conducting overseas trade in terms of improved financial performance, higher levels of innovation and productivity.
