Hall and Campey snapped up
Nottingham-based Hall and Campey Environmental Services has been bought by a rival for an undisclosed sum.
Knowsley-based fuel oil recycler OSS Environmental Holdings said it purchased the company as part of its strategy to build the largest supply of oil feedstock in the country.
OSS Environmental specialises in collecting waste oils and recycling them into a fuel.
Hall and Campey was established in 1977 by business partners Colin Hall and Paul Campey. It employs 21 members of staff and has a turnover of £2.4m.
The company provides an array of waste oil collection services across the UK, as well as offering a confidential destruction service.
Following the deal, husband and wife team Gary and Deborah Swain, managing director and shareholder, will take on new roles within the OSS Group, with Gary taking on a business development position.
He said: "We are extremely excited about the next steps in the company’s development and as part of the OSS Group, we are in a position to be the market leaders in hazardous waste collection services."
Tim Marlow at Ford Campbell led the deal. He added: "The deal sees the end to an exit program where the company has changed significantly and provides OSS with the platform to further strengthen its market position in a fast paced and ever evolving industry."
OSS Environmental was founded in 1987 and employs 150 people at sites including Knowsley and a refinery in Stourport-on-Severn, Worcestershire. It reported a turnover of £24.9m last year, up 23 per cent on 2009.
