Aston Ventures on Midlands investment hunt
Independent fund manager Aston Ventures has said it is targeting companies in the Midlands as it seeks out its first acquisition for its newly-established private equity fund.
Aston Ventures, based in Manchester, said it is on the investment trail having recently launched its KHG Private Equity Fund.
The company acquires and manages industrial businesses across sectors including telecommunications, infrastructure, nuclear, food and confectionary.
Tim Eve, partner at Aston Ventures, said: "The launch of the fund marks the beginning of a new and exciting era for Aston Ventures. We see enormous potential in the Midlands and are very keen to invest here.
"We have been working over the past year to develop the fund and create a strong pipeline of acquisition opportunities and a large proportion of these are based in the region."
The KHG fund has established an open-ended structure – regulated by the Isle of Man's Financial Supervision Commission – and will continue to fundraise on a quarterly basis. It is forecast to have £20m of capital by the end of 2011.
