Job losses as Linford goes to the wall

Share | |

More than 200 employees will be made redundant from the Linford Group after it collapsed, the administrator has said.

The Lichfield construction business Linford Group Limited had been trading for 40 years but has roots dating back 140 years.

It has now ceased trading immediately.

All 240 employees, about 200 of whom were based in the Lichfield area, have been made redundant. About 12 staff in Hawarden, North Wales, are also losing their jobs.

Richard Goodwin, of Birmingham-based corporate recovery firm Butcher Woods, is handling the insolvency.

He Goodwin said: "The company is unfortunately another casualty of the difficulties currently being faced in the construction industry.

"We are doing what we can to work with all parties involved to maximise realisations."
