The future strategy of the East Midlands' £466m regional development fund is set to be unveiled in Loughborough tomorrow.

Businesses will meet in the town to learn more about European funding for innovation, business, regeneration, and research and development in local communities.

The East Midlands has been allocated approximately £233m for 2007-13, which when combined with match funding, provides a programme value of approximately £466m.

So far, the six-year fund has invested £112m in more than 130 projects across the region.

These include £616,000 to create a technology transformation centre in Nottingham, providing services to transport and health sector businesses across the East Midlands and £8.7m to raise awareness of opportunities for enterprise, start-up business support and business growth in targeted communities.

Speakers at tomorrow's event will present the key findings of the programme’s first evaluation, its new governance arrangements and future strategic direction.
