Proper Pies cooks up bakery deal
Proper Pies, based in Redditch, has acquired Leicestershire bakery Barton & White for an undisclosed sum.
The acquisition was made by entrepreneurs Martyn Thomas and Kevin Morel, who also own Oliver James Foods.
Established in 2005, Barton & White supplies several major food supply chains across the UK's travel, retail and hospitality sectors. It specialises in producing hand-made chilled and frozen desserts and savouries
Morel said: "This acquisition will allow us to extend our product portfolio with premium patisserie lines which add value whilst providing an opportunity for us to access and develop new markets. It also provides us with the opportunity to bring new products to our existing customers.
"The relationships we have with our key customers are of the highest importance to us, we are determined to provide a service that is the best in the industry."
The Midlands company recently launched Life, Fork Spoon, a collaboration with celebrity chef James Martin which provides home delivered ready-made meals.
