Mark Group signs up to GDFC
Mark Group, based in Leicester, has been made one of the founding stakeholders of a new not-for-profit energy organisation.
The company, which provides properties with energy saving measures, will join British Gas, E.On, EDF, HSBC and Goldman Sachs as Memorandum of Understanding signatories of the Green Deal Finance Company (GDFC).
GDFC will investigate how to finance the government's Green Deal options for homeowners and subsequently supply finance to all Green Deal providers.
The Green Deal is a government-sponsored framework to allow private firms to offer all UK consumers energy efficient improvements to their buildings.
Walter French, director of policy at Mark Group, said: "The Green Deal is all about achieving whole house energy efficiency, something which Mark Group has been delivering worldwide for a number of years. In order for the Green Deal to work however, consumers will need appropriate access to finance.
"Mark Group is therefore proud to be a founding member of the Green Deal Finance Company and believes that with the commitment of its stakeholders, it will create a highly competitive and relevant market place."
