DCS eyes international growth with £19m deal

DCS Europe, based in Stratford-upon-Avon, has secured banking facilities worth £19m with Barclays Corporate.

As well as helping to expand its repacking and manufacturing divisions, DCS said the cash boost will assist with further global growth in export markets, building on its current presence in 70 countries.

The business, which was founded by Coventry and Warwickshire LEP chair Denys Shortt, has also moved its banking operations to Barclays Corporate as part of the deal.

Shortt said: "Our deal is proof that the banks are lending in these tough times despite what the newspapers say. We are continuing to grow the business following the investment in our facility in Stratford earlier this year and we will to continue to develop all areas of the business to create jobs and growth."

DCS Europe, which employs more than 250 people, operates from its 11-acre site in Stratford-upon-Avon. It is the official UK distributor for Procter & Gamble, Unilever, and Colgate.

Richard Haighton, regional director for Barclays Sales Finance, said: "By increasing the facilities available to DCS, Barclays Corporate recognises the potential of the business to continue its remarkable growth story and was keen to provide additional support to a management team with such drive and vision."
