XMA joins Microsoft in recruitment drive
Nottinghamshire ICT supplier XMA is joining forces with Microsoft to help a bid to get 500,000 unemployed workers into jobs within the next three years.
The move is a response to rising unemployment in the UK, said the company.
XMA will be helping to recruit young apprentices aged 16-18 at World Skills, a competition taking place in London next week.
The company said it will then encourage young visitors to World Skills to sign up to Britain Works, a scheme set up by Microsoft to help provide work experience opportunities.
Lee Hemani, XMA’s sales and marketing director, said: "At XMA, we see the value in nurturing young talent and providing young people with opportunities to be part of the workplace in the future. We are delighted to be working with Microsoft’s Britain Works programme and see the World Skills competition as a great place to showcase our support.
"We're looking forward to welcoming thousands of young people onto our stand at the event to help inspire them to view a career in IT and vocational education and skills gained through apprenticeships as a worthwhile option."
