Private sector praised by property award winner Moore

Jeff Moore praised the private sector for helping the East Midlands Development Agency pursue many of its successful regeneration projects as he picked up the special achievement award at Insider's East Midlands Property Dinner last night (30 September 2011).

Moore, the outgoing chief executive of Emda, was selected for the special prize, awarded solely at the discretion of our distinguished judging panel to someone whom they feel has made a contribution to the East Midlands property sector.

As he picked up his award, Moore said: "It's the people that have made Emda what it is over the last 12 years.

"It's easy to spend public money but the private companies we have worked with have allowed many of our regeneration projects to come to life. It's the private sector's partnership, innovation and creativity which have helped us in our success."

He said Emda's legacy is "a large amount of knowledge, good relationships and many regenerated sites".

The event praised the cream of the crop in the East Midlands property world with 450 professionals celebrating the hard work, talent and ingenuity that shone through despite another tough year for the industry.

Red Dwarf star Chris Barrie compered the evening, which raised money for a very worthwhile cause in the Action for Children charity.
