Global Management Technologies (GMT), which has its UK headquarters in Birmingham, has been bought by Verint Systems for up to $42m (£26.8m).

The workforce management company, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, US, was purchased by software giant Verint for an initial $24.6m (£15.7m).

An additional $17.4m (£11.1m) could be paid based on future performances.

GMT's products are used by a range of industries including retail branch banking.

The deal will add "key differentiating functionality" to Verint, said the company, including GMT's technology value optimisation and sales effectiveness tools.

Verint Systems' chief executive officer Dan Bodner said: "Verint continues to further broaden its enterprise workforce management solution with GMT’s complementary functionality backed by a comprehensive set of supporting services and consulting methodologies.

"We welcome GMT's management and employees to the Verint team. Together, the combined capabilities will further extend our application suite and advance our enterprise WFM strategy."
