Wallace named as PwC's Midlands tax boss
Accountancy firm PwC has appointed a new head of tax in the Midlands.
Stuart Wallace, previously the firm’s head of indirect taxes in the region, will take over from Barry Smith with effect from 1 October.
Wallace will lead the provision of tax services to large corporates in the Midlands, companies based overseas looking to invest in the region and private companies.
He will also lead teams in specialist tax services related to employment and a range of direct and indirect taxation.
Wallace said: "I am delighted to be stepping up to the role of head of tax in the Midlands. It’s a privilege to lead our tax team at a time when we see some real change coming to the tax regime.
"The firm has real strength and depth of specialism in the region and we aim to capitalise on that by continuing to develop our talent and expand our team."
The firm has also appointed a new partner to its Midlands division.
Will Schofield joins the human resources services practice having previously worked at the firm’s offices in the Czech Republic, Russia and Australia.
