Northamptonshire Enterprise Partnership (NEP) has signed a memorandum of understanding with UK Trade & Investment to support investment in the county.

NEP will become UKBI's local partner in the region, seeking to attract more inward investment and promote the county.

Tim Bagshaw, head of investment at NEP, said: "Northamptonshire is already proving to be an attractive location for many businesses, with a central location, good transport links, impressive talent pool and a strong reputation in key industries such as motorsport, engineering and logistics.

"This agreement has strengthened our relationship with UKTI and will help us to coordinate investment opportunities in the county centrally, support export and trade, and best position Northamptonshire as a great location to do business in the UK."

David Riches, director of partnerships for the investment services team, said: "Operating under the new national inward investment model our team will work with NEP to develop and identify the projects that fit with local assets."
