Eco Plastics names Coca-Cola JV
Hemswell-based ECO Plastics has revealed the name of its joint venture with Coca-Cola.
The business – which aims to reprocess plastic bottles - will be known as Continuum Recycling. Used plastic bottles will be recycled in ECO's Lincolnshire plant and the end-product re-used in new Coca-Cola bottles.
Jonathan Short, managing director of ECO Plastics said: "ECO Plastics' plant is already the largest and most sophisticated in Europe and having put the finishing touches to a £24m financing packaging in the last month, we will now be able to increase capacity from 100,000 tonnes to 140,000 tonnes of mixed plastic bottles per year, just under 50 per cent of the total collected last year."
ECO said the £15m expansion project will create 30 jobs.
