CPP to build new Jensen Interceptor
The Coventry-based automotive specialist CPP Global Holdings is to play a leading part in the rebirth of the Jensen Interceptor.
The car production company has been appointed to engineer, develop and build the vehicle by brand owner Healey Sports Cars Switzerland (HSCS).
CPP is currently working on the development of the new car which will be made at its planned new Browns Lane headquarters from 2014.
A team of Coventry-based design consultants employed by HSCS has completed the design of the new Interceptor, which has "already gained significant customer interest".
The public unveiling of the car is planned for late 2012, with deliveries to customers beginning in 2014. Annual production numbers and pricing are yet to be confirmed.
CPP, which already has five existing facilities in Coventry, recently purchased 23 acres at Browns Lane from regional development agency Advantage West Midlands.
Jensen's Interceptor was originally built between 1966 and 1976.
