Aero Engine Controls takes 24-acre Birmingham site
A 24-acre site on Birmingham Business Park has been sold to a joint venture involving Rolls-Royce and the Goodrich Corporation. Aero Engine Controls, which designs, develops and manufactures aircraft engine control systems, now hopes to build a 250,000 sq ft headquarters on the site and bring 1,200 jobs to the area.
Aero Engine Controls bought the land from property group Goodman for an undisclosed sum.
The sale is conditional upon board and planning approvals.
Aero Engine Controls is moving from its current headquarters from Hall Green in Birmingham.
Its chief executive Simon Burr said: "This is the first stage in expanding our capability and building a home for the long-term future of our business."
James Raven, development director for Goodman's UK business parks, added: "We're delighted that Aero Engine Controls has chosen to consolidate its business at Birmingham Business Park and bring 1,200 jobs to this vibrant business community."
Goodman was represented by GVA and Strutt & Parker.
Aero Engine Controls was advised by Corporate Property Advisers who have been further retained as project managers.
The extended project team has been appointed and includes Maber Associates, Davis Langdon, Arup and Ancer Spa.
