Independent financial adviser Jones Sheridan has added £10m to its funds under management with the acquisition of Staffordshire-based Steve Johnson Financial Services.

Prior to the takeover Jones Sheridan had £130m funds under management. Steve Johnson, managing director and sole adviser of the acquired firm, will continue to serve his existing clients.

The deal increases Jones Sheridan's client numbers by more than 100. David Williams, managing director of Jones Sheridan, said: "As I have personally known Steve for many years, it has been rewarding to integrate his clients within Jones Sheridan.

"I am convinced that all of his clients and professional connections will benefit from the integration and from the skills that we at Jones Sheridan possess."

Williams added that he hoped to take advantage of advisers dropping out of the profession ahead of the retail distribution review which will change the way consumers get financial advice.
