Clugston starts work on Staffordshire waste site

Clugston Construction together with its technology partner CNIM has started construction of a 300,000 tonne waste facility in Staffordshire.

Clugston is constructing the contract for Veolia Environmental Services. It will be used by Staffordshire County Council.

Stephen Martin, Clugston Group chief executive, said: "This is a really exciting project to be involved with, one of the most challenging and exciting projects of its kind in the UK today.

"We are really looking forward to working on the facility with our technology partner CNIM and our local supply chain. It will bring real benefits in terms of both jobs and boosting the county's economy."

Tom Spaul, chief operating officer at Veolia Environmental Services (UK), added: "We have dedicated significant resources to developing the most efficient, cost effective, sustainable and environmentally sophisticated solution to Staffordshire’s residual waste problems."
