A £4.4m care home refurbishment and extension have been completed in Worfield, Shropshire.

South Shropshire-based Cornbrook Construction worked on the scheme - the biggest project in its eight-year history - at Bradeney House Care Home in Worfield.

Corbrook said it took 20 months to oversee the contract and enlisted 35 employees to complete the job.

It involved the original Georgian building extended to feature a specialist dementia unit, an additional 58 new bedrooms and new day rooms.

The project was carried out in two phases and also involved the installation of a new laundry and commercial kitchen.

Matt Breakwell, managing director at Cornbrook, said: "We are delighted to be handing over the newly refurbished Bradeney House.

"At just over £4.4m, it is the largest project we have completed and certainly one of the most complicated we've undertaken."
