Derbyshire-headquartered Bloor Homes has clinched a land deal in Shropshire with plans to build 36 homes on 2.4 acres of land.

Bloor Homes has been granted detailed planning permission to build houses comprising of a range of two, three, four and five bedroom properties.

Pochin Developments completed two land sales at the former Dairy Crest creamery site at Ellesmere Wharf in Shropshire and announced the start of the second phase of infrastructure works on site.

The company secured land sales to the Derbyshire-headquartered Bloor Homes as well as McCarthy & Stone. It also awarded a phase two infrastructure contract to Walsall-based Barhale Construction, due to start later this month. The infrastructure works will install further roads and drainage to allow both McCarthy & Stone and Bloor Homes to begin on site next spring.

Bob Nicholson, senior project manager for Pochin Developments, said: "Pochin has been involved in the redevelopment of the former creamery site for five years, and it is fantastic to have secured these planning permissions which will enable work to progress further on site.

"The land sales to Bloor Homes and McCarthy & Stone are important parts of the jigsaw that will help to bring this exciting redevelopment project to fruition."

McCarthy & Stone has been granted planning permission to build 47 retirement homes on the 1.2-acre site. The proposed scheme will comprise 32 one-bedroom and 15 two-bedroom retirement apartments, as well as a communal lounge, laundry, refuse area, guest suite, manager's office and 24 parking spaces.
