Construction and property consultancy Robinson Low Francis (RLF) has appointed Andy Speight to head up its Birmingham division.

Speight has also been made partner at the company. He was previously a board director at project management firm Faithful+Gould and has more than 35 years' experience in the property and construction industry.

In his new role at RLF, Speight will be responsible for managing clients, developing new business leads and overseeing operations in the Birmingham office.

The company was recently awarded a contract by the University of Birmingham on its new £35m sports centre scheme.

He said: "I am very pleased to be joining the RLF consultancy to head up the company's business function in the West Midlands. The region is undergoing many major development changes with a series of large-scale projects underway, including New Street Station and Library schemes, together with the announcement of two enterprise zones, in Birmingham and Sandwell.

"As we move towards a positive future for the construction and engineering industry, the RLF Birmingham office will certainly increase in strategic importance for the business."
