MHA secures £30m funding

MHA, a care services charity based in Derby, has obtained £30m of funding from Barclays Corporate.

The company operates about 70 home across the UK providing residential, nursing and specialist dementia care.

MHA, which is also known as Methodist Homes, said the funding would enable it to develop more care services and create jobs across its sites. It currently employs about 5,500 members of staff and 4,000 volunteers.

Mark Bearcroft, healthcare relationship director at Barclays Corporate, said: "We are delighted to help MHA to expand in line with its business ambitions which demonstrates Barclays Corporate’s commitment to the long term funding and support of business in the healthcare market.

"MHA is a significant charitable care provider and I look forward to seeing the company go from strength to strength in the future."

MHA was founded more than 70 years ago. It provides care for about 13,500 people in the UK.
