Lockton plans for Birmingham expansion

The Midlands office of global insurance broker Lockton said it plans to double fee revenues and grow staff numbers by 50 per cent after appointing a new managing partner.

Debbie Day joins the firm's Birmingham office from rival Marsh, where she spent 11 years working in London and the Midlands.

She said she planned to almost double fee revenues and grow the number of staff from 40 to 60 over the next three years.

Day succeeds Garry Moseley, who led the business for the past two years.

The company also plans to move offices in 2012, said Day, and will appoint two or three new partners to work alongside Moseley, who remains in the business and sits on the board.

Day said: "We have a focused, sector driven expansion plan which will target mid to high end corporate businesses including FTSE 250 organisations and large private companies.

"Before accepting the post I met with the chairman David Lockton in the States and was very impressed by the fact that I would be joining a client focused organisation which was quick on its feet and entrepreneurial in its thinking.

"Birmingham is the second biggest office in the UK and there is a tremendous opportunity to develop the business further."

Lockton has offices throughout the US, Latin America, Asia, The Middle East and Europe.
