Andersons opens up in Leicester
Nottingham law firm Andersons Solicitors is expanding by opening an office in Leicester. The firm said it was "the right time" to enter new markets ahead of the Legal Services Act changes next month.
Andersons, which is based on the Ropewalk near Nottingham city centre, has recruited Faizal Essat to head up its new office.
Managing partner Andrew Kelly said: "It’s not been easy but we’ve managed to ride out the recession reasonably well because we’ve been established in Nottingham for 60 years and have a loyal client base including several blue chip companies.
"We’re also particularly strong in employment law, which has been a rare growth area in recent years due to the rising number of redundancies and tribunal claims."
From October, the legal market will be opened up to allow some banks and supermarkets to offer legal services, which many critics have said will threaten the future of some traditional high-street law firms.
