Optima expands into East Mids
Specialist care provider Optima Care has acquired a site in the East Midlands following a multimillion-pound refinancing deal with Santander Corporate Banking.
Optima, based in Lancashire, provides health and social care services across the UK. In a bid to expand its presence, the company has also bought Kent-headquartered Family Care Homes.
The company already manages three sites in Lancaster, Preston and Kent. It will grow to manage an additional nine properties after acquiring eight from Family Care Homes and the as-yet-undisclosed East Midlands site.
Optima, which employs about 400 people in the UK, said the East Midlands location would grow its provision of mental health rehabilitation services.
Eddie Coombes, director of Optima Care said: "We are delighted that Santander has supported our growth plans. These acquisitions enable us to strengthen our geographic footprint and to support the local economy with continuity in the jobs market and enhancement in local services."
