Whg invests £3m in Walsall sites

Share | |

Housing provider Walsall Housing Group (Whg) has invested more than £3m on refurbishing two of its properties in Brownhills.

Humphries House and neighbouring Severn House will undergo development including the installation of energy efficient biomass boilers which burn wood pellets and produce instant hot water. Both sites are owed and managed by landlord Whg.

New roofs will be fitted, double glazed windows installed and communal areas redecorated, said the housing provider.

Aldridge-based Wates Construction and British Gas have been appointed to complete refurbishments to the 1960s blocks.

Group chief executive Gary Fulford said: "Work to Humphries and Severn Houses is not only significant in terms of investment but exciting as we are introducing cutting-edge green technology. Whg is at the fore of the retrofit revolution and we will continue to innovate for the benefit of our customers and the environment."
