Something for the weekend
Now that’s tragic
Magician news, and "nationally-renowned" magician Kyle Summers has won a £15,000 compensation award after a Midlands hospital failed to deal with a severed hand tendon.
Problems emerged after Kyle was discharged from the hospital, when he discovered a chronic loss of movement and on-going loss of dexterity in his left hand. Medics were obliged to re-examine Kyle’s hand before it was then correctly diagnosed and confirmed that his tendon had in fact been severed.
As a result of the misdiagnosis hitting his livelihood, Kyle contacted Harvey Ingram personal injury specialist Dawn Slow.
Kyle says: "Suffering even the slightest hand impairment is an absolute nightmare for any magician."
You can insert your own joke here, but Kyle continues: "In my case, it happened at a critical time in my career, although I had been able to continue working albeit with a fair bit of discomfort in my right hand. I am now returned to full flexibility and audience feedback suggests the injury isn’t obvious.
"I would hate anyone else to find themselves in my position simply because a medic missed and failed to deal with something as relatively straightforward as a severed tendon. I am delighted with the way Harvey Ingram quickly dealt with my case and the compensation goes some way to the stress, inconvenience and loss of earnings during the past two years."
Your shopping centre needs you
The Victoria Centre is inviting its customers to step forward to be a star in its Christmas advertising campaign, with the chosen ones also winning a Victoria Centre gift card worth £100.
Nottingham’s premier shopping centre will be holding auditions for its Christmas adverts on Sunday 4 September and Monday 5 September during shopping hours on the lower mall outside Topshop.
Open to customers aged 16 and above, the entrants will be asked to show their best surprised expression whilst their reactions are captured on film and in photographs.
Liz Sewell, marketing manager of Victoria Centre, said: "We’re incredibly excited about our new campaign and can’t wait to meet our faces of Christmas. We would love all of our customers to come forward and show us how that perfect gift makes them feel.
"We’re after a more genuine approach to the Christmas advertising rush. We want everyone to see real people and real reactions in our adverts. Hopefully we’ll be spoilt for choice and I’m really looking forward to choosing who we’ll have fronting our ads with the rest of the team."
The material from the recordings will be used on TV and in magazines and press across the Midlands.
Go on, take your beloved down their after with her Ladyshave from last Christmas, and relive the magic.
It’s a gas
Cheery times down at the Phoenix Partnership. A banner created by the Sileby-based brand, design and PR agency for the gas holder at one of the most famous cricket grounds in the world, the Oval, has been enjoying world-wide media coverage for clients Scotia Gas Networks (SGN).
Measuring over 25m by 13m the banner advocates the necessity for alarms to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning.
Need must, I guess.
