Macpac wraps up Hamilton deal

Share | |

Northampton packaging manufacturer Hamilton Plastic Packaging has been bought by rival Macpac.

Stockport-based Macpac acquired the company for an undisclosed sum.

Macpac supplies a range of bespoke and stock packaging to industrial clients and blue chip retailers. It said Hamilton’s production operations will now be transferred to its Heaton Mersey premises.

"Hamilton’s customers should see new and improved services," said Graham Kershaw, managing director at Macpac. "We’re really looking forward to working with our new customers and helping to improve their businesses."

Law firm SAS Daniels advised Macpac on the deal. The firm's head of corporate Jeremy Orrell said: "The deal is another sign of confidence in the North West manufacturing industry and further proof that in the current climate, there are opportunities for firms like Macpac."

Last year Macpac completed a £750,000 expansion programme that included investing in new plant and expanding its premises with 15,000 sq ft of new space.
