Yorkshire Bank backs care home expansion

A £3.7m care home has opened in Sutton-in-Ashfield after its operator secured funding from Yorkshire Bank. The move has created 40 new jobs.

Bank House Care Homes bought the three-storey property on Langton Road from construction company LNT Group.

The Ashcroft care home, which contains 53 en-suite bedrooms, will provide care and nursing for elderly people. It was established with undisclosed funding from Yorkshire Bank's financial solutions centre in Nottingham.

Kris Sooriah, director at Bank House Care Homes, said: "Ashcroft has taken nearly a year to build and we are delighted with the finished results. All the bedrooms are high spec with flat screen televisions, internet access and telephones to add to our communal rooms.

"We thought the way forward was to buy a bigger home and strengthen our position as a local provider since we believe Ashcroft will provide the ultimate accommodation and luxurious environment for residents needing care in the town of Sutton-in-Ashfield."

Bank House Care Homes currently operates two other homes in Sutton-in-Ashfield
