Clinical Psychology Associates wins Midven backing

A Keele-based provider of psychological services has received an investment of £250,000 from venture capitalist Midven’s exceed fund.

Clinical Psychology Associates was established in 2004 by joint directors Dr Lloyd Humphreys and Dr Jonathan Ward to provide specialist psychological care.

It is headquartered in Keele and also operates from sites in Birmingham, London, Manchester and Bristol.

Dr Humphreys said the funding would provide the company with working capital to win contracts in children's homes and educational services.

Ian Fairclough, investment manager at Birmingham-based Midven, led the funding round.

He said: "Since its establishment in 2004, CPA has delivered exceptionally high-quality services to health and social care, corporate clients, legal firms and individual patients.

"CPA has experienced good growth since 2004 and as a result of continued client satisfaction, cannot see any foreseeable reasons for this to stop."

Dr Humphreys added: "In the coming years, our continued focus will be to establish ourselves as exclusive third party suppliers to organisations that cannot readily access psychological expertise from statutory providers, or who require a nationwide service."
