London calling for Residentsline after buyout
Residentsline, the Wolverhampton-based insurance provider, is preparing to set up in the capital after being bought by an Australian insurance underwriting agency.
Dudley-based law firm Hawkins Hatton advised the directors of the Wolverhampton company on the share sale of the business.
Residentsline, which provides insurance solutions for blocks of flats and apartments, was bought for an undisclosed sum.
Former shareholders Belinda Thorpe and Neil Abel will remain with the business once it transfers to CHU.
Thorpe said: "With additional investment we will be introducing new products and services to the UK market place as well as opening a new office in London.
"We will continue to offer innovative insurance solutions for the UK flats market, based on our combined understanding of the leasehold industry."
A CHU spokesman said that the deal "marked the company's arrival" in the UK.
Colin Rodrigues, corporate partner at Hawkins Hatton, advised Residentsline alongside solicitor Dawn Sebbage and Terry Hitchens from accountants Garratts.
