Smith Cooper leads Australian acquisition
Advisers from Midlands accountancy firm Smith Cooper have led the sale of a South West company to an Australian charity.
North Wessex Training was sold to Campbell Page, an Australian-based charity, for an undisclosed sum.
Andrew Durbin, David Crump and Helen Richardson of Smith Cooper’s corporate finance department project managed the sale process.
A corporate finance team from East Midlands law firm Geldards managed the legal process for the sale.
The acquisition was negotiated by Smith Cooper with the chief executive of Campbell Page.
Operating out of seven locations in the South West, North Wessex Training employs about 45 people and helps long-term unemployed people back into work.
Richardson said: "Having experienced several transactions on the other side of the fence as a managing director it is clear that Andrew and David did a great job in structuring, negotiating and completing the transaction within a few short months."
Taxation advice was provided to North Wessex and its owners by Clare Beachell of Smith Cooper’s specialist tax team.
Smith Cooper has offices in Birmingham, Alfreton, Ashbourne, Burton-upon-Trent, Buxton, Ilkeston, Derby and Nottingham.
Geldards operates in Derby and Nottingham.
