Click Travel hits £19m turnover
Travel management company Click Travel has revealed a turnover boost of nearly £9m after investing in new markets and products.
The Birmingham-based company said its heavy reinvestment strategy into new markets and helped it achieve an annual turnover of nearly £19m.
Simon McLean, entrepreneur and managing director of Click Travel, said: "We’ve always believed in reinvesting profit into the company, but this year in particular the move has really paid off."
Click travel has created 16 new jobs in 2011 year, taking staff numbers to 50.
The company recently launched takethetrain.co.uk, an online rail ticket website based on its Openrail platform.
McLean said: "We invested a six-figure sum back into developing our new rail technology, something that has given us a unique edge in our day to day business as well as creating a whole new opportunity for us to enter the consumer rail ticketing market with takethetrain.co.uk.
"We’re keen to keep funneling revenue into the business as it allows us to keep to our ethos of innovation."
