Sertec swoops for DPE division
Automotive components manufacturer Sertec Group Holdings has acquired the assets and ongoing business of the Tyseley division of DPE Automotive. The deal will create a £70m turnover company.
Through the transaction, which was agreed for an undisclosed sum, Birmingham-based Sertec will take on all 106 staff at the 110,000 sq ft facility in Tyseley.
The deal increases the Sertec Group’s turnover by £14m to more than £70m, it confirmed.
But it is the additional press capacity and space which is of greater value to the manufacturer.
Sertec's chairman Graham Mosedale said: "Such an important acquisition not only gives us additions to the order book, but gives us room to plan for effective growth to the benefit of our customers.
"The additional space and plant facility allows us to support our increasing volume and will help to secure new parts contracts for vehicles already at the design and planning stage."
Sertec supplies parts for all Jaguar Land Rover vehicles, including the new Evoque model.
The company has recently bought a 36,000 sq ft logistics facility in addition to its main Coleshill site.
The transaction was advised by Heidi Hendon of Harvey Ingram Solicitors.
