Netshield opens up in Birmingham
IT services provider Netshield has opened its second West Midlands base at Birmingham Science Park Aston (BSPA).
It will be Netshield's third office, after it opened a base in Nottingham office and established its Aldridge headquarters.
The data centre will house more than 12,000 servers to provide server space, cloud computing and IT outsourcing services. It will create four new jobs, and Netshield said it planned to employ two more members of staff at the BSPA site before the end of the year.
Netshield's commercial director Richard Carty the move represented "a major milestone" in the company's expansion plans for 2011.
He said: "Our trio of datacentres significantly strengthens the service we can provide organisations locally, nationally and internationally.
"Our strategy is to build Netshield’s datacentre infrastructure in a way that is scaleable and with the capacity for speedy and efficient expansion, that is sustainable and meets the market’s current and emerging requirements from its outsourced IT supplier, notably in the constantly growing area of cloud computing."
