Rolls-Royce wins second Brazilian deal
Manufacturing giant Rolls-Royce has won an order to design and equip two vessels for Brasil Supply. The deal is worth £15m to the Derby company.
In its second Brazilian contract win in recent weeks, Rolls-Royce will equip two UT 735 SE offshore supply vessels for Brasil Supply. The contract includes vessel design and an integrated Rolls-Royce equipment system.
The vessels will be chartered by Brazil’s state oil company Petrobras and are designed to carry fluids and solid cargo to and from offshore oil and gas platforms.
Earlier this summer, Rolls-Royce won its first contract to construct a pair of vessels for Brasil Supply.
Atle Gaasø, Rolls-Royce's general manager, sales – offshore service vessels, said: "With this contract Rolls-Royce further strengthens its presence in Brazil, and we look forward to working with both the owner and the yard throughout the construction of these custom made vessels."
The vessels will be completed in 2013, said Rolls-Royce.
