Buyer sought for PLC Labels
Newark-based label manufacturer Rivers (Midlands) has entered administration. Insolvency firm Winterhill Largo has been appointed to sell the business and assets of the company, which trades as PLC Labels.
The Nottinghamshire company employs 13 staff at its Tuxford, Newark factory and head office.
Joint administrators Simon Plant and Daniel Plant of SFP were appointed by the bank on 16 August following a period of tough trading, which led to the failure of the business.
SFP appointed Winterhill Largo to assist with the marketing and sale of the business.
Iain Gash, of Winterhill Largo, said: "PLC Labels has some great regular contracts, a skilled workforce and good printing facilities. It is well placed to continue to trade well with the backing and resources of the right buyer.
"We hope that the strong client base and a good range of products will help us secure a buyer for the business as a going concern, as this would be the best outcome for both the creditors and employees."
As well as producing printed labels for firms including Avery Berkel, the business also manufactured thermal transfer and printing ribbons for a range of printer brands.
