New director for RBS in the Midlands
The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) has appointed Andrew Harrison as managing director for the Midlands and East of England.
Harrison has been promoted from his senior banking role in RBS' corporate and institutional banking team.
He will head up a team of 150 employees which provides banking services to about 750 companies from its corporate offices in Birmingham, Cambridge, Milton Keynes, Norwich and Nottingham.
Harrison has worked at RBS for 18 years, most recently running specialist structured finance teams.
He said: "I'm very excited to be joining the RBS team in this dynamic region. My responsibility is to ensure that RBS is proactively there to help companies in the Midlands and East of England reach their strategic goals both domestically and internationally.
"The economic environment is challenging but there are good opportunities for companies to invest and grow, for example by taking advantage of low interest rates. I'm therefore very positive about the prospects for the region and am committed to delivering the strength of the RBS Group."
