Manganese Bronze drives international deal

Share | |

Black taxi manufacturer Manganese Bronze Holdings (MBH), based in Coventry, has agreed a joint venture with Geely International.

China-headquartered vehicle manufacturer Geely will give MBH exclusive rights to the development of a business plan concerning the launch of its products in the UK.

MBH and Geely said they will establish a project team "in due course" to determine the scope of any future distribution arrangements.

The deal will involve MBH's role in the distribution of Geely's vehicles and spare parts, as well as the provision of after-sales service.

John Russell, chief executive officer of MBH, said: "The signing of this agreement is a further example of the growing relationship between MBH and Geely. We look forward to successfully establishing and agreeing the business plan for the launch of Geely vehicles into the UK and to the implementation of that plan."

The companies said that if the completion of the business plan is not possible, the agreement will lapse on 1 August 2012.
